This important show of all new work is in September, the traditional season-start of the gallery world in Europe. A one-man show at Galerie Barbara von Stechow showcased a wide selection of recent experimental pieces with tattoo imagery and wildly exuberant painting was on display.
Opening night , Norman Thatcher Scharpf, the U.S. Consul General, presented this badge to us as a symbol of German US friendship. His remarks summarized things nicely stating “…that we are all best remembering friends as situations in the world grow more tense.”
I am proud to bring paintings from America to my personal land of art heroes. The world’s best artists seem to come from Germany: Kirchner, Schmidt-Rotluf, Pechstein, Nolde, Beckmann up to Lupertz, Immendorf and of course, Georg Baselitz.
The exhibition starts on Wednesday, September 6th from 6 to 9 pm in the gallery space. The artist will be present at the opening. Norman Thatcher Scharpf, U.S. Consul General in Frankfurt am Main is patron of the exhibition. Public Exhibition September 7 – October 4, 2023.
