Hong Kong Art Week
Galerie Taménaga, in conjunction with Hong Kong Art Week and Art Basel Hong Kong, proudly presents an exclusive pop-up exhibition in a historic building on Des Voeux Road Central from March 19 to March 30. Showcasing contemporary paintings by seven internationally acclaimed artists – Takehiko Sugawara, Kyosuke Tchinai, Lorenzo Fernandez, Chen Jiang-Hong, Tamihito Yoshikawa, Tom Christopher, and Kayoko Kimura – the exhibition creates a dynamic dialogue that bridges Eastern and Western sensibilities, tradition and innovation, spanning the spectrum from realism to abstraction. We aim to highlight a wide range of artistic styles, techniques, and materials, with each artist representing a distinct narrative shaped by their own cultural heritage and lived experience.
Tom Christopher imbues his canvases with vibrant urban energy, capturing the dynamic pulse of contemporary cityscapes through bold, expressive brushwork and colour palettes. He tries to capture both moments of stillness as well as the chaos of a frenetic, pulsing city.
Set in the heart of Hong Kong, a city that hosts the highest echelons of artistic expression each year, Galerie Taménaga seeks to capture and celebrate this artistic innovation. We invite art enthusiasts and collectors alike to engage with these evocative works that we are proud to present.
